Following the elections in May 2011 the Woodcote Parish Council is now formed with its various officers duly appointed. There are still currently two vacancies for Parish Councillor’s anyone who is interested should contact the Parish Clerk for details.

Robin Peirce - Chairman

Has lived in Woodcote for the past 36 years. Represented Woodcote on South Oxfordshire District Council for 23 years between 1984 and 2011. Has regularly attended Woodcote Parish Council meetings since 1984. Has been a member of the Parish Council for the last 7 years, served as Vice-chairman and recently elected Chairman for 2011/12.

Geoff Botting - Vice Chairman

Has lived in the village since 1977.Recently retired after 40 years in the IT business where, among other roles, he was a senior executive of a large US computer company whose UK headquarters were in Reading. Educated at The University of Reading, spent 15 years as a member of the Council of the University of Reading, including 6 as Vice-President and remains a member of the University Court. His two daughters, both educated at Woodcote Primary School and Langtree, have long since left home but their receipt of book tokens from the Griffiths Higgs Trust prompted an interest in that local charity which led to the University appointing him as a Trustee.

His purpose in joining the Parish Council is to help develop the village in a way that reflects the wishes of the village as expressed in the Parish Plan and, in particular, to maintain the rural nature of the village and to prevent excessive development and traffic from degrading that for today’s villagers and denying it to future residents.

And, finally, he and his 1959 Frances Barnett will be at the Rally again this year but joined, for the first time, by his wife on her 1954 French autocycle.

David J Booth

I have enjoyed living in Woodcote for the past 16 years and now that I have retired I would like to spend time in ensuring the Woodcote Parish Plan, which I am enthusiastic about, is realised and I believe this is also the wishes of the majority of the residents of Woodcote.

Kevin Grady

Joined the Parish Council in March 2010. Have lived in Woodcote for nearly 4 years. Married, with one child who attends Langtree. Chose to live here because the village is not too large, the school is outstanding, the countryside is spectacular, the area is overrun with footpaths and bridleways, good level of amenities, excellent access for Henley, Goring, Reading and London.

Currently the Parish Council representative on the Youth Centre Committee. My interests for the village are ensuring the Parish Council executes the wishes of the villagers: I believe some of the main challenges are; limiting expansion; maintaining Woodcote's feel and character; protecting the amenities; the speed of traffic through the village and; providing an environment in which young people can safely and unobtrusively work off their natural energy. Work in Henley and I am lucky enough to be able to cycle to and from work on most days.

Mrs Diana Hadaway

Has lived in Woodcote for over 40 years and served on the Parish Council for 4 years and is now beginning another 4 year term. Founder of ‘Toddlers’. Governor of the Woodcote Primary School. Active member of the Parish Council has a strong interest in preserving the rural aspects of the village and maintaining the attractive aspect of Woodcote.

Mrs Stephanie Harrison

Has lived in Woodcote for two years with her husband and little boy. Is a qualified Accountant and works in Reading. When I moved to the village I was impressed by the real sense of community and this inspired me to apply to become a Parish Councillor and join Woodcote Parish Council.

Pete Stevenson

Has lived with his wife Anne and two sons James and Alex, in Woodcote for the last 5 years. Both boys attended Woodcote primary school and now are at Langtree. I am keen to ensure that Woodcote remains a vibrant thriving village that can cater for and meet the needs of all age groups. I would also like to see that the community spirit is maintained and all feel welcome when they visit or move to the village.

Peter Tyler

Has lived in the village for many years and is a long serving member of the Parish Council. Has previously been Vice Chairman of the Parish Council. Involved in many aspects of the village, participating on the Village Green and Community Centre committees. He is active in many events in the village and his wife organises the Village Festival.
